TAIRAKU Orthodincit Office is JDSB (Japanese Dental Specialty Board) certified. Among 20,000 orthodontic doctors in Japan, only 1.3% are certified as specialists by JDSB.
JDSB is the latest authorization system launched in September 2024, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Before JDSB, there were no "government-defined standards" for orthodontic care in Japan. Various issues arised concerning treatment skills by dentists, part-time orthodontists, and increasement of private certification systems. As a sresult, many patients were confused in selecting their best orthodontic dentist.
After 20 years of discussion and consideration between the government, orthodontic specialist organizations and dentists, JDSB and this new orthodontic qualification system was launched for the purpose of settlements of the issues, and further improvement of technical orthodontic levels in Japan.
This new certification system by JDSB is currently the most highly strict standard, provided to professional orthodontics who meet high standards, such as appropriate training (over 5 years in university orthodontic departments, etc.), case reviews, written exams, oral exams, and continuous resarch and trainings. Certified specialists have acquired advanced treatment knowledge and skills which allow them to maximize orthodontic treatment results.

JOS (Japan Orthodontic Society), a non-profit academic institution, is the largest and historical orthodontic organization, providing the most strict standard certification before JDSB. Among 20,000 orthodontic doctors in Japan, 16% are certified as physicians, and only 1.7% are certified as specialists by JOS.
TAIRAKU Orthodontic Office is certified by both JDSB and JOS, which means you will be able to receive the highest skilled orthodontic treatment in Japan.
